The Carstairs and District Agricultural Society is a non-profit organization who calls Carstairs home. We are made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who live and work in the community and surrounding rural area. The Ag Society has been supporting Carstairs and the area since 1976.
The Carstairs and District Agricultural Society is one of the 291 Agricultural Societies in Alberta. Agricultural Societies in Alberta are members of the Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies which is a non-profit, non-governmental provincial organization incorporated under the Societies Act and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Originally, Agricultural Societies were formed to support rural community infrastructure and fill unique roles within communities; Ag Societies provide programs, events and facilities that impact social and economic growth of the community that they call home.
